Book returns to Cincinnati Public Library with an apology note
Someone dropped off the book "Tarzan and the Tarzan Twins" with a note. It reads, "To whomever receives this, I am returning this book which was not checked out, but was taken from the Cincinnati Public Library in or about 1972 to 1973. I was a young teen then. Anyway, I trust you will find it in good condition." [Local 12]
An apology to Monica Lewinsky
My peer’s sarcasm started my multi-decade hatred of Monica Lewinsky. The predictable, unoriginal, sexual and inappropriate commentary continued not only before my first day in the White House but even today — more than 20 years after my internship ended. At the time, a reporter from my hometown radio station couldn’t resist referencing the scandal during our interview, which thankfully wasn’t live. All of those remarks fueled my outrage toward Lewinsky because I sincerely believed she single-handedly ruined my internship experience. But Lewinsky didn’t do that, and I owe her an apology. The problem was my inability to empathize with her and my failure to assign any blame to Clinton — both due to my implicit bias. [MyDailyNews]
